Dharma Assembly to Respectfully Honor the Holy Birthday of Namo Ancient Buddha Dipankara

Dharma Assembly to Respectfully Honor the Holy Birthday of Namo Ancient Buddha Dipankara

According to the Treatise on the Great Perfection of Wisdom, when Dipankara Buddha was born, all things around the Buddha were just like lamps. Hence, the Buddha is known as Dipankara Buddha, also known as the Lamp Bearer Buddha. The Hall of Ancient Buddha Dipankara is a holy Buddha Hall built on the site where Buddhas had bestowed holy amrita from the sky. Upon completion of the Buddha Hall, the statue of Ancient Buddha Dipankara has been respectfully enshrined and consecrated, and the Hall of Ancient Buddha Dipankara has since been formally established. Buddhists now have the opportunity to make lamp offerings to Dipankara Buddha to generate boundless merit. Making lamp offerings in any Buddha Hall in the world cannot compare to making lamp offerings to Dipankara Buddha in this holy Hall, where holy amrita was bestowed, as it is most magnificent and auspicious for beseeching good fortune and blessings.

Great Holy Gurus are there to chant Sutras and perform Dharma to increase the merit of those who make lamp offerings. Every day, Dharma masters chant Sutras and mantras, as well as practice Dharma to beseech good fortune for everyone who makes lamp offerings, to pray for the increase of their good fortune and wisdom, pray for them to have good health, successful career, prosperous business, academic success, as well as for prosperity in all countries, and for harmony in humanity. Making lamp offerings in the Hall of Ancient Buddha Dipankara is especially magnificent in receiving uniquely auspicious blessings.

On the forthcoming Holy Birthday of Namo Ancient Buddha Dipankara, the World Buddhism Association Headquarters (WBAH), Holy Miracles Temple, and Sanger Mission will jointly hold the Dharma Assembly to Respectfully Honor the Holy Birthday of Namo Ancient Buddha Dipankara in the Grand Hall of Shakyamuni Buddha at the Holy Miracles Temple on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at 10 a.m. The congregation will be guided to respectfully chant the Liturgy of Jeweled Repentance Before Eighty-Eight Buddhas, pay homage to Buddhas during the repentance ritual, and make food offerings to Buddhas. All merit will be dedicated to respectfully honor the Holy Birthday of Namo Ancient Buddha Dipankara, to increase living beings’ good fortune and wisdom, eliminate all darkness, and to pray for world peace, prosperity for all countries, and for harmony in humanity.

All Buddhists are welcome and encouraged to participate and to share the benefits of Dharma!
